Embodying visionary leadership

Picture
As we begin the journey to 21st century learning environments, maintaining the vision for 21st century learning and teaching and creating the conditions for success, will be imperative.

For the last year and a half, I led a 21st century learning environments committee this year at Springbank High School. We looked into what 21st century learning environments were and how we, at Springbank Community High School could move forward. The attached document, 21st Century Learning Environments: Building Better Schools,  provides a background to 21st century learning environments and how they can be achieved using data collected from the Springbank High School students, teachers, and parents. We have now embraced this vision and are moving into implementing many of the ideas including building an Advisory, re-visioning the Learning Commons, participating in Alberta Education's Flexibility Project, and creating flexibility in both the timetable and in courses themselves.
